Consumer Protection Al Batina North organized several educational lectures for the students in the governorate to introduce them to the PACP, its role in protecting the consumers and its importance within the society.
The Primary Court, Sur, recently issued five legal verdicts and penal orders, and the primary court, Jalan Bani Bu Ali also issued verdicts favoring consumers, and ordered fines and imprisonment against violators of consumer protection law.
Consumer Protection, Al Dakhliya, recently concluded a settlement agreement between a consumer and car dealer, and it was agreed to replace the faulty vehicle with a new one, within the PACP’s efforts to solve all the problems and complaints received from consumers.
The Primary Court, Ibra, recently issued three verdicts against violators of consumer protection law which were apprehended by the law enforcement officers of Consumer Protection Ibra, and the court decided to impose fines in excess of OMR 4,000, deportation of the violators, and seizure and destruction of the violating goods.
Within its efforts to reach amicable settlement for the complaints received from consumers, the complaints department, PACP, concluded an amicable settlement between an event management company and a consumer, and recovered OMR 2,000 for not providing the agreed service.
Consumer Protection, in cooperation with General Automotive Company, recently launched a campaign for recalling 8682 Mitsubishi Gallant and Pajero vehicles. 430 Mitsubishi Gallant produced from 2009 – 2012 were recalled, based on chassis No: 4P3SYDJ3A9E801008 and No: 4P3SYDJ3A9E803221, along with 8252 Pajero produced from 2007 to 2016, based on chassis No: JMYV95WFJ700101 and No: JMYLRV93W8J740759. The campaign started on 15/1/2017.
