Consumer Protection in Al Dakhliya Governorate, within its efforts to amicably solve complaints and reports received through the social media, recently settled a complaint by consumer resulting in compensation amounting to OMR 500.
Consumer Protection, in cooperation with Moosa Abdul Rahman and Oman Trading Company, recently launched a recall campaign for 472 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra vehicles 2014 – 2015 model.
The primary court in Salalah recently issued a verdict against an accused worker in a large fish company for selling rotten fish to consumers, and decided to condemn the accused with the misdemeanor of exhibiting and selling rotten foodstuff violating the standards and specifications, along with a fine of OMR 2,000, in addition to the misdemeanor of dealing with foodstuff inconsistent with the standards and decided to fine him OMR 5,000 and permanent expulsion without the possibility of returning to Oman, provided that the penalties are combined and the harsher one is applied. The same verdict also ordered the closure of the shop for three months and the destruction of seized items.
Consumer Protection Muscat recently concluded amicable settlement between a consumer and recruitment company, within its efforts to resolve the consumers’ complaints and reports.
