‏Consumer Protection launches recall campaign for BOSCH cutters

On 4 April 2017 Consumer Protection, in cooperation with Alawi and Partners, started a campaign to recall 236 Bosch cutters made from June to August 2016.

 

The recall concerns the 20WGS and 22WGS models, based on model No: GWS20-230H  for tools No: 3601h50102, and 3601H50L01/ 3601H50L03/ 3601H50L62/ 3601H50L72/ 3601H50L73, and model GWS20-230JH for tool No: 3601H50M01, and model GWS22-180H for tools No: 3601H81102/3601H81L02/36018H1L62/3601H81L72, and model GWS22-180JH for tool No: 3601H81M02, and model GWS22-230H for tool No: 3601H82103/3601H82L03/3601H82L63/36018H2L73, and model GWS22-230JH for tool No: 3601H82202/3601H82M03/3601H82M32/3601H82203, and model GWS24-180H for tool No: 3601H83101, and model GWS24-180JH for tool No: 3601H83M01, and model GWS24-230H for tool No: 3601H84101/3601H841P13601H84L01, and model GWS24-230JH for tool No: 3601H84201/3601H84M01/3601H84204. The recall is intended for the tools with serial number from 606 to 608 manufactured from June to August 2016.
The reason for the recall is faulty component, the cutting or grinding disc together with the fastening fixture (spindle) could become detached during operation which may cause injuries to the user, and thus the company will recall all the tools as a precaution and will repair/replace the tools as required.
‏The recalls confirm the efforts by Consumer Protection in continuously reviewing all the products in the Omani markets to provide the protection required

 No one imagined that greed and deviousness would reach such a staggering level that thought exist only in movies and investigative drama shows , yet it became a stark reality when some merchants sought to make a profit on the account of health and safety of the young and adults alike utilizing the God-given intellect that they posses into destruction and evil instead of serving public good , the devious plan used ( Back to school ) season by carving holes inside books and hiding chewing tobacco inside in away from the inspectors notice targeting the younger generation with these destructive materials that effect the health , mind and safety of our kids .
 The Judicial officers noticed that consumers come very frequently to a specific shop during one of the inspection tours which raised their suspicions to strengthening the monitoring and follow up on that matter , students were spotted in the shop as well , the Officers expediently intervened to inspect the shop , the inspection did not reveal anything at first , however , the officers noticed a stack of books and decided to inspect it , surprisingly , they found more than 600 pouches of chewing tobacco on its way to be sold and distributed on consumers and students , the officers immediately issued a violation and referred the case to the General Prosecution to deal with the matter as per the Law
