This recall is due to the possibility of stopping the servo of the steering system as manual steering capability will continue but requires increasing steering effort, especially at reduced speeds, a message will be displayed to the car's Driver Information Center (DIC) and audible alerts within a few seconds of the intermittent situation. To alert the driver that there is a problem with the power steering system loss and the system may continue to shut down until the engine is switched off and on again this problem may occur after the engine is started. Accordingly, the company will replace the power steering system assembly.
The recalls underscore the Authority's efforts in the field of traffic safety in cooperation with automotive dealers to preserve the lives and safety of consumers, and provide the necessary protection for consumers, in line with its keenness to conduct continuous reviews of all products in the Sultanate’s market.
