Awareness and inspection campaigns on school cafeterias in Khasab and Bakhra


  The Consumer Protection Department recently launched an inspection and awareness campaign on school cafeterias, including all public and private schools in Khasab and Bakha, to raise awareness of food safety, the various health aspects of food, control food prices, health and safety of food and raise the level of health and food, as well as, enhancing the quality of the school meals for students, teachers and school employees and protect their health.

Jail time and deportation of an expat from Oman for the sale of Chewing tobacco and banned cigarettes in a coffee shop

The Court of First Instance in the Wilayat of Samail recently ruled in conviction of an expat from Asian nationality, for the violation of Consumer Protection Law as promulgated by Royal Decree No. 66/2014. The ruling was in favor of 3 months jail time, cancellation of authorization, and permanent deportation from the country, as well as, the disposal of the seized goods.

The workshop was presented by Dr. Qasim Muhammad Al-Mamari, Assistant Professor in Information Technology and Systems and Director of the Information Technology Program at the Faculty of Applied Sciences College, 23 Heads of departments, legal researchers, law enforcement officers, administrative affairs clerks, media personnel and awareness specialists participated.

PACP launched a recall in cooperation with Zawawi Trading Company for 9 Mercedes-Benz S-Class 2018 as 5 Mercedes S 450 L AMG with VINs WDD2221661A371071 - WDD2221661A384146, two Mercedes S 450 L with VINs WDD2221661A375867 -WDD2221661A376087 and one Mercedes S 560 L with VIN WDD2221831A384290, as well as, one S-650 Maybach with VIN WDD2229801A377413 were recalled.

 No one imagined that greed and deviousness would reach such a staggering level that thought exist only in movies and investigative drama shows , yet it became a stark reality when some merchants sought to make a profit on the account of health and safety of the young and adults alike utilizing the God-given intellect that they posses into destruction and evil instead of serving public good , the devious plan used ( Back to school ) season by carving holes inside books and hiding chewing tobacco inside in away from the inspectors notice targeting the younger generation with these destructive materials that effect the health , mind and safety of our kids .
 The Judicial officers noticed that consumers come very frequently to a specific shop during one of the inspection tours which raised their suspicions to strengthening the monitoring and follow up on that matter , students were spotted in the shop as well , the Officers expediently intervened to inspect the shop , the inspection did not reveal anything at first , however , the officers noticed a stack of books and decided to inspect it , surprisingly , they found more than 600 pouches of chewing tobacco on its way to be sold and distributed on consumers and students , the officers immediately issued a violation and referred the case to the General Prosecution to deal with the matter as per the Law
