The administration of consumer protection in the governorate of al Dhahera held recently a meeting with commercial centers managers and wholesale traders and representatives of companies that distribute milk products in the governorate of al Dhahera. The meeting, held in the premises of Ibri chamber of Oman chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) aimed to explore the preparations taken by the commercial centers and shops to provide sufficient food stuff and the basic food products during the month of Ramadan and the Eid.
In Ramadan, purchasing power of individuals increases to high levels. PACP, from its part, gears up early to welcome this blessed month of Ramadan by making sure the local market meets all consumers' needs and demands of food stuff and basic food products, particularly meat and milk products.
PACP gives so much interest to price control in Ramadan; some traders and sellers take advantage of growing demand on food stuff and food products and raise the levels of prices exaggeratedly. The most important of all for PACP is observing expiry date for every product at in Ramadan. Thereby, the authority calls for consumers to check carefully data label of every product they buy and deal with extra carefulness when there are any offers or sale.
